Safran Acquires German 'Smart Card' Specialist Orga

Safran consolidated its position in the homeland security market by acquiring German smart card specialist Orga. The merger will create a unit with annual smart card sales of more than 300 million euros ($359 million). Separately, rival Thales landed a deal to supply a nationwide smart card system...
