Pilot hiring is brisk during May
Twelve of the 14 major carriers hired 302 pilots in May, according to Atlanta-based Air, Inc. National carriers were the most active, hiring 446 pilots. Pilot hiring totals 6,480 so far this year and is projected to reach 15,372. US Airways has 281 pilots on furlough.
