Key MRO Executives To Watch In 2024

Barker recently took on this newly created role as the engine maintenance provider prepares to roll out capabilities for CFM International Leap 1A and 1B engines at its San Antonio site. StandardAero was the first independent MRO in the U.S. to become an authorized maintenance provider for the engine type. Barker will oversee induction of StandardAero’s first quick-turn engines in early 2024 and full-performance restoration shop visits in early 2025.

Appointed CEO last summer, Dullmann will oversee the addition of services for CFM Leap and Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan (GTF) programs. SR Technics inducted its first Leap engines in 2023 and expects to induct its first GTF in the second quarter of 2024. Dullmann recently told Aviation Week the company plans to hire about 500 new employees by 2028 as part of a goal to double revenue over the next five years. He will also oversee SR Technics’ involvement in the Sustainable Engine Alliance.

She will have her hands full leading the engine manufacturer through ongoing issues with IAE V2500s affected by contaminated powder metal, which have caused widespread fleet groundings and inspection requirements.

Naufel, who took on his new role Sept. 1, will oversee record growth in Embraer’s services and support business: By the end of 2023’s third quarter, it had reached a record $2.8 billion in earnings. Its new E190 passenger-to-freighter conversion program will likely drive even more business. Naufel’s experience as technical director at Azul Linhas Aereas will likely come into play as Embraer looks to break into agnostic MRO capability for other aircraft types.

Appointed last July, Schmidt is overseeing AAR’s digital strategy to increase internal efficiencies and develop new digital sources of revenue. The MRO provider acquired maintenance and fleet management software provider Trax for $120 million in March 2023 and plans to infuse capital and resources toward its expansion.
