In a strategic move aimed at addressing the MRO industry’s growing shortage of skilled labor, India’s GMR School of Aviation has partnered with RH Aero Systems, a U.S.-based OEM specializing in licensed tooling, ground support equipment and life-cycle services. The collaboration seeks to develop advanced aerospace training programs tailored to the evolving needs of the aviation maintenance sector.

Under the partnership, Indian MRO provider GMR Aero Technic and RH Aero will jointly design and deliver specialized tooling training modules through the GMR School of Aviation in Hyderabad. The programs will focus on operation, repair and maintenance of specialized aviation tools, combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience using advanced simulators and practical training aids.

As part of the agreement, RH Aero employees will undergo these specialized training programs, ensuring proficiency in the latest industry practices and tooling technologies.

“We aim to cultivate a highly skilled, future-ready workforce that meets international standards and drives innovation in the aerospace industry,” says Ashok Gopinath, president of GMR Aero Technic.

The partnership further reinforces GMR School of Aviation’s growing role as a regional hub for MRO education and technical training. The school opened in January 2024 through a partnership between GMR Aero Technic and Airbus. Since then, the school has expanded its portfolio to include specialized programs in line maintenance, component repair and aircraft interiors.
