Recent personnel developments in the commercial aviation industry centered on MRO companies headquartered in Hong Kong and Germany.

At Hong Kong-based aircraft engineering and maintenance firm HAECO Group, Ben Scheidel will take over as CEO of HAECO Hong Kong effective Sept. 1, moving up from group director for airframe services. Peter Murton succeeds Scheidel in the latter role, leaving his position as executive general manager of operations in the division to Derek Hui, who was previously head of commercial there. With Bill Collins to retire as president of MRO services for HAECO Americas at year-end, HAECO Americas CFO Todd Navin will assume the position in January 2025.

At Lufthansa Technik (LHT), Michael Kirstein has become VP of the Transformation Office, overseeing the company’s Ambition 2030 growth program. In the engine services segment, Derrick Siebert has been named VP of operations, leaving his role as VP of commercial to Georg Fanta, who held the title in aircraft component services. Berit Plewinsky succeeds Fanta in his aircraft component services role, having previously been senior director of product sales and fulfillment for single events and closed loop for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Tim-Oliver Fedeler has become MD of component services and senior director of product sales and fulfillment for the Asia-Pacific region, leaving his role as head of digital innovation in the component segment, while Jens Michel has moved into the role of VP of sales for Northeast Asia from head of legal affairs for EMEA. Fabian Nagel has moved up to VP of sales for VIP and special aircraft services from senior director of procurement for engines and airframe, while Alexander Sixt has moved into joint venture LHT Intercoat as MD from LHT Logistik, where he was head of global competence center for warehouse and aircraft maintenance solutions. Lastly, Thomas Illner has been named MD and head of Americas region at LHT Component Services, leaving his role as CEO of LHT subsidiary BizJet.
