During China’s seven-day Spring Festival of 2021, air passenger trips decreased by 72% from the pre-COVID same period in 2019, with average passenger load factor 58%. Total daily flights, both domestic and international, decreased 58% from 2019. But cargo flights increased significantly, with cargo flights to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan more than double their pre-COVID levels.

On March 1, the head of Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency and the head of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic in the northern Caucasus held a working meeting, which discussed prospects for development of air traffic in Kabardino-Balkariya. In particular, the meeting discussed plans to modernize the infrastructure of the airport in Nalchik and possibly resume international flights.
