Located around 130 km north of its Bacau facility, Aerostar plans to expand its capacity by opening a new maintenance facility at Iasi International Airport this year. The company has signed a 49-year lease agreement with local authorities for the new four-bay hangar, which is expected to open this summer with services for Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 classic aircraft.
Semmco Expands to North America

Seeing an opportunity in North America, U.K ground support equipment repair specialist Semmco opened a new office and manufacturing facility in Arlington, Texas in January of this year. According to Semmco, its objective for the the 18,000 ft.2 facility is to create a hub in the U.S. to fully service all local requirements for customers such as Air Canada, American Airlines and Delta.
Duncan Aviation Expands MRO Facilities
Duncan Aviation, the business aircraft MRO provider, is growing its U.S. presence by expanding its hangar capacity expansions in a move that will result in new capabilities and staff. In February, the MRO more than doubled its aircraft battery shop space in Lincoln, Nebraska. Next month, it expects to open a new paint complex in Provo, Utah.
Revima Looks To Thailand For New Repair Facility
Auxiliary power unit and landing gear repair specialist Revima is expanding its global footprint with a new repair facility in Thailand expected by the end of 2019. Construction of the new $30 million site in Chonburi began in October last year.
TP Aerospace Opens New UK Facility
TP Aerospace, the Denmark-headquartered wheels and brakes repair provider, opened a new facility close to East Midlands Airport in the UK in 2019 to service and overhaul passenger and cargo airline's wheels and brakes. The facility holds a production capacity of 4,000 to 5,000 of units per annum.
AerFin Sets Up Atlanta E-Jet Logistics Facility
AerFin opened a 24/7 facility in close proximity to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport earlier this year. The location initially covers more than 200 E-jet rotable part numbers including actuators, valves, electronics and lighting as well as a large selection of high demand component LRUs.
LATAM Adds Sao Paulo Facility
LATAM Airlines Group announced in February that it opened a new MRO facility at São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport.
