Volotea Extends A320 Family Component Contract with AAR
Volotea has extended its Airbus A320 family power-by-the-hour component support contract with AAR. The agreement includes the positioning of Main Base Kits at Volotea’s European operating bases, access to AAR’s component pool inventory from logistics centers in Europe and the management of the component repair cycle.
S7 Airlines Picks Revima for Landing Gear Repair
S7 Airlines has signed a landing gear repair agreement with Revima covering the airline’s Boeing 737-800 and A320 family aircraft. Revima recently completed the first overhaul on a 737 landing gear at its new Thailand facility, which was opened in 2020.
GATES Gets India CFM56 Overhaul Approval
GA Telesis Engine Services has received certification from India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation to overhaul CFM56-5B/-7B engines. It says the new approval opens access to a strategic growth market for the engines in South Asia and enables it to further expand its growing customer base in India.
Cobham Extends Embraer Pool Program Agreement
Cobham has signed a Pool Program agreement extension with Embraer in Australia to support its three E190 aircraft. The Pool Program offers full repair coverage for components and parts, airframe maintenance and unlimited access to a large stock of components at Embraer’s distribution centers.
JETMS Gets New UK Maintenance Approval
JETMS has received maintenance organization approval certification from the UK Civil Aviation Authority to conduct base and line MRO services on Embraer EMB135/145 aircraft. The new certification gives it the capability to carry out regional aviation maintenance services on UK registered aircraft.
New Switzerland-Based Technical Services Partnership
KLM Cityhopper has announced a new technical services partnership with Helvetic Airways, under which it can now perform work on Helvetic’s Embraer E-Jet fleet as and when required at its Zurich Airport base. While the partnership initially covers the on-call provision of maintenance services for Helvetic’s E-Jet E1 and E2 fleet, it says subsequent expansion fo the agreement has not been ruled out.
Magnetic MRO Signs Avioparts Agreement
Magnetic MRO has signed a consignment stock agreement with MRO supplier Avioparts covering the supply of ATR tires. It says the agreement will enable its MRO Wheels and Brakes workshop to minimize turnaround time and improve efficiency.
Flair Airlines Wheel and Brake MRO Agreement
Michelin North America and Hope Aero have secured a new wheel and brake MRO agreement with Canadian carrier Flair Airlines. Under the strategic partnership, Hope Aero will provide brake and wheel service while Michelin will provide tires for Flair Airlines’ fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.
S7 Technics Plans New Overhaul Shop
S7 Technics plans to set up a new overhaul shop for CFM56 engines and Honeywell auxiliary power units at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport. Overhaul work will be performed under EASA and FAA certificates and the shop is scheduled to become operational in the first quarter of 2022.
Safran Opens New U.S. Wheel and Brake Repair Facility
Safran Landing Systems has opened its new wheel and brake repair facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. The facility will provide wheels and carbon brakes maintenance and logistics services to its airline and military customers. It says the shop will strengthen its repair network in the U.S. and enable it to better serve customers in the wake of post-COVID traffic recovery.
