AAR Launches Rock Valley College Fellowship Program
AAR has launched a fellowship program with Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois as part of its EAGLE Career Pathway Program. The fellowships will be offered to 10 students who will work a minimum of two years with AAR and recipients will receive a cash award that may be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees and material.
MRAS Expanding Nacelle MRO Facilities
Middle River Aerostructure Systems (MRAS) is expanding its MRO capabilities for jet engine nacelles with a new, dedicated 60,000 sq. ft. workshop at its Maryland headquarters. MRAS says that in addition to increasing its capacity for nacelle system MRO covered by its FAA and EASA Part 145 Repair Station Certificate, the expansion will open new opportunities, such as nacelles that equip high-thrust engines.
Constant Aviation Adds New AOG Locations
Constant Aviation has added three new locations to its U.S.-based AOG mobile response network, including Van Nuys, California; Bedford, Massachusetts; and Sugarland, Texas. It says the rapid growth its AOG services have experienced over the last year is due to increased demand for private aviation activity.
VSE Aviation Expands Engine Overhaul Agreement
VSE Aviation has extended a preexisting engine overhaul agreement with an unnamed OEM from 2024 to 2029, under which it will operate as an exclusive distributor of fuel control systems and spares for more than 15,000 business and general aviation aircraft and rotorcraft. The expanded five-year agreement is valued at $125 million.
Rusada Introduces Inventory Management App
Rusada has introduced a new Inventory Management app for its Envision MRO software. Envision Stock enables paperless performance of multiple inventory tasks on the go, such as conducting inventory counts, shipping assets and receiving, relocating and issuing stock. Rusada says its photo-based barcode scanning capability speeds up data entry and eliminates user errors.
S7 Technics Signs Onto SkySelect Platform
Russian MRO S7 Technics has signed onto the SkySelect platform for automated aircraft parts purchasing. It says it plans to use the technology to save time and money in its large-scale parts purchasing. According to SkySelect, its platform’s algorithms help companies find the best deals on parts while matching real-time demand from buyers with global supply.
Wencor Becomes PMA Aeroparts Distributor
Wencor has signed an exclusive agreement with PMA Aeroparts to become its global distribution partner for its Parts Manufacturer Approval product line. The agreement includes filtration, sensors, switches, controls and hardware products that PMA Aeroparts says will boost Wencor’s material solution offerings.
Marilake Expands Galley Repair Capabilities
UK-based independent repair workshop Marilake Aerosystems has added more galley equipment to its capability list. It has now added more than 200 additional parts, bringing its in-house capacity to nearly 8,000 aircraft avionics, instruments and galley parts.
VD Gulf Gets New Line Maintenance Approval
VD Gulf has received approval from Jordan’s Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission to service Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737-300/-400/-500 aircraft at its Sharjah line station.
LHT Philippines Begins New Hangar Construction
Lufthansa Technik Philippines has started construction of its new hangar following pandemic-related delays. The $20 million hangar project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022. It says the hangar, its fourth in the Philippines, will expand its capacity by 25% and create 270 jobs.
