Magnetic MRO Performs Virtual Aircraft Inspection
Magnetic MRO has completed its first virtual aircraft inspection as part of pre-lease preparation. The test inspection was performed using video of both the airframe and interior, which it says will enable customers to receive all needed information without being physically present.

GKN Aero-Engines Facility Gets FAA Base Certification
GKN Aerospace has obtained FAA base certification for its aero-engine parts repair facility in Malaysia. The Johor site focuses on servicing engine low-pressure compressor components for CFM56-5B, CFM56-7 and V2500 engines.

Tarmac Opens Another Aircraft Storage Site
Tarmac Aerosave has opened a fourth site at Paris-Vatry airport, in the Grand Est region.

Gameco Marks 737-800 BCF Program Launch
Gameco celebrated the launch of its 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) program this week at its Guangzhou base, holding a door-cutting ceremony of its first 737-800 BCF, which commenced the production phase of the program. A 737-800BCF carries up to 52,800 lbs. (23.9 metric tons) of payload.

Triumph Quality Control
Triumph’s accessory services facility in Grand Prairie, Texas achieved AS9110 certification. That certification is a quality management system standard that incorporates ISO 9001 plus additional aviation and defense MRO requirements. Triumph Systems & Support, the accessory services business, has six AS9110 certified sites.

Pratt Announces New Designated Maintenance Facilities
Pratt & Whitney has appointed five new designated maintenance facilities in Europe, North America, South America and Asia to provide line maintenance on some of its engines.

HAECO Cabin Solutions Launches Lavatory Upgrades
HAECO Cabin Solutions has launched three devices to upgrade aircraft lavatories to hands-free operation. The pre-certified devices include an electric foot-controlled switch for flushing toilets, an infrared sensor-based waste basket lid for disposal of toilet waste and a refillable hand sanitiser dispenser.
