Magnetic MRO and Scandinavian Airlines have extended their base maintenance agreement to include services for the carrier’s whole A320neo fleet.
Bedek Gains A Certification
Bedek, Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) maintenance organization, has received the AS9110C Standard Certification for the management of maintenance and continuous airworthiness for aircraft requiring MRO services.

AerSale’s Parts Division Gets New FAA Approvals
AerSale Component Solutions has announced it has received approval from the FAA to overhaul Boeing 737, 757, and 767 series aircraft landing gear. FAA approval to overhaul landing gear for the Airbus A320 family of aircraft is expected in the coming months.

ARSA Pushes For Regulatory Language Adjustment
The U.S.’s Aeronautical Repair Station Association has asked that language from 14 Code of Federal Regulations, 145.109(d), requiring certain documents and data be “current and accessible when the relevant work is being done,” be eliminated. ARSA says FAA does not require design approval holders, that is, manufacturers, to make maintenance data available as ARSA says they are required to by § 21.50(b), but FAA aggressively enforces the requirement for repair stations to possess the most current version of those documents.
Caerdav Undertakes EasyJet Work
British MRO Caerdav has been appointed by easyJet to carry out aircraft end-of-lease checks and repairs on two Airbus A319s. The low-cost carrier put the aircraft through Caerdav’s maintenance hangars in St Athan, Wales last month before they were returned to their lessors.
FLYdocs Reveals 2019 Numbers
During 2019, FLYdocs asset management platform acquired 15 new clients, added 65 million more documents, and managed 45 aircraft transitions.

Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners has announced initial three investments with firms to establish operations in Abu Dhabi, including launching a joint venture with Sirius Aviation Capital and investing $100 million in a new aircraft leasing company.
Asiana, Ameco Pen Engine Cooperation
Y I Chang, vice president of Asiana Airlines, recently visited Ameco and spoke with Ni Jiliang, CEO of Ameco, Zhu Xiao, CMO of Ameco, and other related personnel. Ni Jiliang and Y I Chang signed the 10th engine overhaul and in-depth strategic cooperation agreement between Asiana and Ameco. The other purpose of this visit was to further explore cooperation with Ameco engine overhaul service and expand the field of cooperation between Asiana and Ameco.
Gameco Begins Daxing Line Maintenance Service
Gameco has obtained its first third-party line maintenance service at Daxing airport, for a Finnair Airbus A330. It is the first time that Gameco-certified personnel have conducted transit check and aircraft release service independently for Finnair at Daxing, which symbolizes a new page of Gameco’s line maintenance business development at Daxing.
Jet Parts Engineering Gains New PMA Certifications
Jet Parts Engineering, recently received FAA approval on 17 new PMA parts. The most recent additions to Jet’s extensive offerings include interior seat track covers that apply across a broad range of Boeing aircraft, thrust reverser seals for the Embraer ERJ, anti-collision position lenses and hardware, along with various other parts.
Analyst Raises AAR Price Target
In a report commenting on AAR second-quarter earnings, Canaccord Genuity Aviation and Defense Analyst Ken Herbert raised his price target to $55 from $52, noting 15% organic growth in the aviation services sector, driven by parts business and government contracts, and AAR’s indication that its maintenance, repair and overhaul business had its fourth consecutive quarter of improvement.
CAAC Unveils BeiDou Road Map
Recently, Civil Aviation Administration of China released the roadmap for the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System in China’s civil aviation. The roadmap proposes to vigorously advance the application of BeiDou, actively build a technology application system for a global navigation satellite system with BeiDou at its core, as well as to promote the building and operation of a next-generation air navigation system with focus on positioning, navigation and timing in order to achieve high-quality development of civil aviation. Implementation of BeiDou will be divided into three phases, short-term, 2019-2021, medium-term, 2022-2025, and long-term, 2026-2035.
Monocle, AerSale Outline Merger
Monocle Acquisition Corporation, a public investment vehicle, and AerSale, an integrated provider of aviation aftermarket products and services, have entered into a definitive agreement to merge in a transaction with an implied enterprise value of approximately $430 million, or 6.3 times AerSale’s forecasted 2020 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. The combined company, named AerSale, will be publicly traded on NASDAQ.
