STS Opens Syracuse Line Maintenance Station
STS Line Maintenance has opened a new station at Syracuse Hancock International Airport in New York. The line maintenance station is its 38th in the U.S. and STS plans to begin full operations on Feb. 15.
FL Technics Gets CFM Family Certification
FL Technics Engine Services has received ISO EN 9110:2018 approval, which certifies its operations to serve CFM family engines at full scale, including repair, replacement, installation, rectification and preservation services.
Ural Airlines Plans Hangar Expansion
Sergey Skuratov, general director of Ural Airlines, has indicated plans for the airline to expand its maintenance center in 2022 with another hangar complex for Boeing aircraft. He added that Ural Airlines is updating its fleet and plans to develop cargo services.
Japan Airlines Gets GE 360 Foam Wash License
Japan Airlines has been awarded a license by GE Aviation to use its 360 Foam Wash system on its CF34-8E engines. GE says Japan Airlines is the first global CF34 engine operator to be licensed for the engine cleaning system.
Global Aviation Technologies Lands SmartSky Deal
Global Aviation Technologies has been chosen as a sales and installation provider for SmartSky’s air-to-ground inflight connectivity equipment under a new agreement. It will provide services for SmartSky’s advanced shipsets at its Wichita, Kansas location.
Ontic and Ametek Sign Legacy Product Agreement
Ontic has signed an exclusive license agreement with Ametek Sensors and Fluid Management Systems for select motor-driven fuel flow meter products for various military aircraft engines. The fuel flow meter products currently supported by Ametek will be transitioned to Ontic’s Chatsworth, California facility throughout 2022.
SK AeroSafety Group Acquires Fire-Tec
SK AeroSafety Group has acquired aviation safety equipment MRO provider Fire-Tec Aero Systems, which specializes in fire extinguishers, oxygen bottles and emergency power equipment. SK AeroSafety Group says the acquisition will grow its reach in the U.S. by adding more specialist fire safety capabilities to its portfolio.
Gastops Expands ChipCHECK Alloy Library
Gastops has released a major update to its ChipCHECK Alloy Library, which it says more than doubles the number of engine wear debris material types that can be detected by the turbine particle analyzer device. It says ChipCHECK now covers most of the commercial aircraft engines flying today.
Skystream Airlines Picks OASES Software
European cargo carrier Skystream Airlines has deployed Commsoft’s OASES MRO software. It plans to use multiple modules of the software, including CAMO, Line Maintenance and Materials for maintenance operations of its Saab 340 fleet.
Jet Flight Service Signs onto Beacon
Russian MRO service provider Jet Flight Service (JFS) has signed onto the EmbraerX Beacon maintenance coordination platform. JFS expects the platform to help it streamline maintenance cases, reduce out-of-service time, eliminate redundant communications and leverage data insights to improve operation.
