Jet Parts Engineering Acquires AeroSpares
Jet Parts Engineering has acquired AeroSpares, a specialist in proprietary aftermarket replacement components. The merger will add to Jet Parts Engineering’s catalog of more than 1,300 PMA parts.

AerSale Inducts First Owned B757-200 P2F Conversion
AerSale has inducted the first of its 24 owned Boeing 757-200s for passenger to freighter conversion at its Goodyear, Arizona MRO center. The additional 757-200s are being stored at its Roswell, New Mexico facility and will be ferried to Goodyear for passenger to freighter conversions to meet booming demand for cargo.

Lufthansa Technik Sells 3D.aero
Lufthansa Technik and Pepperl+Fuchs have sold their shares in joint venture 3D.aero, which has been researching and developing automation and digitization solutions for the aviation industry since it was founded in 2017. Robotics and industrial automation specialist ESPACE 2001 has acquired all the shares in the JV.

TAT Piedmont Aviation Signs New APU Contract With Honeywell
TAT Piedmont Aviation has entered into a 10-year agreement with Honeywell International to acquire its GTCP331-500 APU rental bank and provide APU rental services to airlines operating the APU type. The companies have also entered an MOU under which Honeywell has authorized TAT Piedmont to provide MRO services for the APU.

RoyalJet Opts for HAECO Cargo Solution
Middle Eastern charter operator RoyalJet has adopted HAECO Cabin Solutions’ in-seat package stowage systems to carry cargo in the passenger cabin of its Boeing 737-700 aircraft. Through HAECO’s STC for the equipment and installation, RoyalJet was granted operational approval from the United Arab Emirates’ General Civil Aviation Authority to operate the aircraft with both cargo and passengers, which it says has enhanced its operational flexibility.

Iberia Maintenance Selects Ramco Software
Iberia Maintenance has selected Ramco Aviation M&E MRO Suite software to unify operations across its airframe maintenance, engine shops, component shops and supply chain. It says the software will reduce maintenance turnaround time, simplify processes and improve productivity.

AerSale Now Public
AerSale became a public company after combining with Monocle Acquisition Corp. via a special purpose acquisition company. AerSale started trading as ticker symbol ASLE on Nasdaq on Dec. 23.

Robotic Skies Raises New Funding
Startup Robotic Skies, which is building a global MRO network for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), has received a new round of funding to support continued growth and technology development. Led by Thayer Ventures with participation from existing investors such as Boeing HorizonX Global Ventures, Robotic Skies says the funding will be used to develop its marketplace to connect UAS operators with qualified, local technicians.

AAR Gets Safety Management System Recognition
AAR announced that it has been recognized as the first independent MRO to implement a Safety Management System in accordance with the requirements set forth in the SMS Voluntary Program by the FAA, EASA, Transport Canada and the International Air Transport Association. It says the implementation of the Safety Management System will enable it to proactively identify safety issues and trends before they reach their full potential.

BASF Plans New Shanghai MRO Station
BASF announced plans to build an MRO station in Shanghai, China to service its Deoxo aircraft ozone and ozone/VOC converters, which catalytically remove ozone and volatile organic compounds for better cabin air quality. The new station, which is planned to open in the fourth quarter of 2021, will complement BASF’s existing MRO in Huntsville, Alabama.
