Japan Airlines Pens GE Services Deal

Japan Airlines signed a nine-year TrueChoice flight hour agreement that covers the airline's GEnx-1Bs on its Boeing 787s. The agreement is valued at $1.3 billion over the life of the contract.

ST Engineering, Qantas Agree Nacelle MRO Contract

ST Engineering’s aerospace arm has secured a five-year nacelle maintenance contract from Qantas Airways. Under the agreement, ST Engineering will provide nacelle maintenance services starting from 2020 to the airline’s Boeing 737-800s and Airbus A330s.

SAS Extends LHT Contract

SAS Scandinavian Airlines has extended its component support contract with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) until Dec. 2026 and added further services to support its new Airbus A350s. LHT will provide an integrated material supply for the carrier’s entire fleet as well as Airframe Related Components services, including LEAP-1A nacelle support.

Bii Purchases B737-800 for Teardown

Bii.aero has purchased a Boeing 737-800 for teardown and part-out. The aircraft, which was previously owned by lessor Aircastle and operated by Sriwijaya, is being dismantled for parts at ComAv Technical Services in Victorville, California.

SIAEC Forms Korean Line Maintenance JV

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) and Air Innovation Korea Co. have entered into a joint venture agreement to form a line maintenance joint venture based in the Republic of Korea. Under the JV, SIAEC will support Aero-K Airlines for component pooling and repair and overhaul management services, starting March 2020.

Collins and LHT Signs A320neo Nacelle Agreement

Collins Aerospace and Lufthansa Technik (LHT) have signed a licensing agreement for nacelle MRO services on Airbus A320neo aircraft. Under the agreement, Collins will provide LHT with technical and repair process information, access to OEM tooling and rotable asset pools.

Wizz Air Rolls Out LHT Line Maintenance Offering

Wizz Air has introduced Lufthansa Technik's digital line maintenance planning solution available on the AVIATAR platform as launch customer. The integration of data from various IT systems on AVIATAR adapts plans for each maintenance location and for every aircraft in the fleet instantaneously. Every change in the flight schedule or maintenance requirements results directly in an updated plan, which can be transferred to the maintenance information system with a single click.

Pratt Marks GTF Anniversary

Pratt & Whitney has celebrated the one-year anniversary of the overhaul capability for the GTF PW1100G-JM variant at its Singapore engine center, Eagle Services Asia. The line capability is part of the $85-million modernization of the Singapore facility, which is one of three GTF engine centers in Asia Pacific. It is a joint venture between SIA Engineering Company and Pratt & Whitney.

Trenchard Gets FAA Certified in Dubai

Trenchard Aviation Group, a specialist in aircraft cabin component design, manufacture, repair and on-wing maintenance, has gained FAA certification for its MRO facility in Dubai.

Swiss Gained More Customers In 2019   

In 2019, 17 new customers joined the Swiss-AS’s community of AMOS MRO software users. Lufthansa German Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo have signed up for AMOS, both carriers implementing AMOSmobile for line maintenance and continuing airworthiness management activities.
