VD Gulf Tapped for Pobeda Airlines Line Maintenance
VD Gulf has signed its first maintenance agreement with Russian operator Pobeda Airlines. Under the agreement, VD Gulf will provide maintenance services at its two Egyptian line stations in Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh for the airline’s Boeing 737NG aircraft.

Envoy Air Opens New, Larger Hangar in Springfield
American Airlines subsidiary Envoy Air has opened a new aircraft maintenance hangar at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. The 60,000 sq. ft. hangar was built to accommodate the airline’s larger Embraer E175 aircraft, which could not fit into the old 22,500 sq. ft. hangar.

RBI Hawker Australia Becomes Leonardo Rotor Blade Repair Service Center
RBI Hawker Australia has been appointed as a rotor blade repair service center for Leonardo Helicopters. It can now offer OEM approved helicopter rotor blade repair services to Leonardo AW139 and AW109 models from its maintenance facility in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.

Jet Parts Engineering Gets FAA Approval for More PMA Parts
Aviation spare parts provider Jet Parts Engineering has received FAA approval on 18 new PMA parts, including components for galley beverage makers, crew seat unlocking handles, APU actuation components, engine compressor hardware and landing gear actuation parts.

Frontier Airlines Picks LHT for CFM56 Services
Lufthansa Technik has signed a five-year contract with Frontier Airlines to repair and overhaul 21 CFM56-5B engines and supply Mobile Engine Services. It will overhaul the engines in Hamburg and provide surgical repairs at its facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Britten-Norman Acquires New Maintenance Hangar
Britten-Norman has signed a new 15-year lease on a third hangar at Solent Airport Daedalus in the UK, which will provide OEM aircraft refurbishment, Part 145 aircraft maintenance services, international field servicing and specialist avionics and mission systems integration.

FDH Aero Acquires Unical Defense
Aerospace and defense aftermarket products distributor FDH Aero has acquired Unical Defense, a provider of aftermarket components and logistics services for military aircraft. FDH says the acquisition will accelerate its strategic growth in the global defense aftermarket.
 
JETMS Adds New OEM to Services Capability
Business and regional aviation MRO provider JETMS has signed a partnership with aerospace product manufacturer Ingenio Aerospace. Under the partnership, JETMS will expand its OEM network with Ingenio’s products and components for fixed wing and rotor aircraft in corporate, commercial and military markets.

RAS Gets EASA Part 145 Approval
JETMS subsidiary RAS has received EASA Part 145 approval, which it sought after Brexit in December 2020 to continue serving its European client base. It says the approval will complement its existing UK CAA approvals.

ST Engineering Gets Cabin Air Purification STC
ST Engineering Aerospace has received the Approval Model List Supplemental Type Certificate from the FAA to install Aviation Clean Air’s cabin purification solution on Airbus platforms. The solution uses patented Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization technology to neutralize pathogens and purify cabin air.

IAMA Preps for Member Auditing Program
The Independent Aircraft Modifier Alliance (AMA) is partnering with Paris-based Qualit-Audit to kick off its auditing program for alliance members. Qualit-Audit will begin formal audits of alliance members in Q1 2022 to ensure they are modifying aircraft to IAMA Rulebook standards.

LATAM Concentrating Heavy Maintenance In Brazil
LATAM Airlines Group has opened a new maintenance line in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which will begin performing heavy maintenance for Boeing 767 freighters in May 2022. The move will concentrate 56% of the group’s heavy maintenance activities in Brazil, which it says will reduce maintenance costs by up to 40%.

HAECO Extends Alaska Maintenance Agreement
HAECO Americas has extended its longstanding agreement with Alaska Airlines to provide heavy maintenance and modification services at its Greensboro, North Carolina facility through 2027. Alaska Airlines says the agreement will help support its fleet growth in the coming years.
