Jetaire Gets ANAC Certification For Invicta System

Jetaire has received certification from the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) for its Invicta Reticulated Foam Ignition Mitigation system for Boeing 737 series aircraft, which provides fuel tank flammability reduction compliance.

IAG’s Europe Facility Obtains CAAC Approval

IAG Engine Center Europe has received the Civil Aviation Administration of China certification approval. The company is permitted to perform component maintenance and specialized services.   

Predictive Maintenance Competition

The LISA Group & Bosch Software Innovations are joining forces for a predictive maintenance platform, LISA GIGA Hub, an independent analytics provider to compete with Aviatar and Skywise. The partners plan to automate downloading aircraft data, uploading it, cleansing data and writing predictive algorithms. LISA GIGA Hub will leave intellectual property and ownership of data to the customers and use robots to write or select the algorithms that work best with the data.

IFS Acquisition

IFS, which offers Maintenix software for airlines and AFS Applications for MROs, has acquired Astea International, which offers field service management software. 

Recaro in China

Recaro Aircraft Seating inaugurated its newly expanded production facility in Qingdao, China. The inauguration concludes the second phase of the space2grow initiative, a major global expansion project Recaro started last year to support its continued growth. The new Recaro production facilities measures roughly 7,500 sq. meters. It is provisioned to accommodate up to five new assembly lines, which will increase the maximum production capacity of Recaro’s China plant to 60,000 seats per year.

Pratt & Whitney In Brazil

Pratt & Whitney and Brazil’s Indύstria de Aviação e Serviços have opened their new overhaul center in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, for PT6As and PW200s.

S7 Software

MRO provider S7 Technics has completed the implementation of AMOS MRO Edition, developed by Swiss Aviation Software. In the short-term, S7 plans to start managing its hangar capabilities using AMOS MRO Edition. The introduction of the software’s mobile edition, AMOS Mobile, is scheduled for 2020.

Congress Introduces Legislation to Modernize Part 147 Training

Members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have issued the Promoting Aviation Regulations for Technical Training (PARTT) 147 Act, which would direct the FAA to replace current training requirements with a community-drafted regulation establishing a performance-based oversight system. The new law would enable more flexibility for aviation maintenance technician schools to teach modernized, higher-tech curriculum geared toward new aircraft types.

AFI KLM E&M Signs Components Contract With China Southern

China Southern Airlines has signed a long-term component support contract with AFI KLM E&M for its new fleet of 20 Airbus A350s. Under the agreement, the airline will have access to a dedicated component inventory and the MRO will provide maintenance, repair and logistic services.

SIAEC Signs Engine Contract With Safran

SIA Engineering Co. Ltd. (SIAEC) has signed a 10-year agreement to provide engine maintenance services to Safran Aircraft Engines. The agreement includes engine quick turn and modification embodiment services for CFM LEAP-1A/-1B engines and SIAEC plans to set up a dedicated facility to support the services, which is expected to begin operations in 2020.
