Lufthansa Technik AG has renewed its base maintenance contract covering more than 140 aircraft with British low-cost carrier easyJet for another five years.

The agreement covers Airbus A320 family aircraft and is renewed from its initial signing back in September 2016. The renewed terms began this month.

The base maintenance services will continue to be carried out at Lufthansa Technik's facilities in Sofia, Bulgaria with some work carried out at its Malta and Budapest bases as required.

“We have used Lufthansa Technik Maintenance across a number of their sites over the years and have always found them to be a reliable partner in support of our A320 family maintenance,” says Brendan McConnellogue, easyJet director of engineering. “The renewal of this contract ensures this working relationship continues and maintains easyJet's high standards of technical reliability.”

EasyJet currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of more than 300 aircraft. These are comprised of A320 classic variants along with A320 and A320neo models.
