Inside AMES' Expanded Dubai Facility

Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES) recently opened its new facility in an invest totalling $3 million.
The facility will repair fan stator modules for the GE90 engine, which powers Boeing 777 aircraft.
The extended facility located in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone will accommodate new preventive maintenance inspections and associated repairs on the fan stator modules.
According to AMES, the repairs will be carried out on fan stator modules once they have exceeded 50,000 flight hours as mandated by manufacturer GE Aviation.
Currently, it employs 32 staff, and the company says it is looking to further grow this workforce in order to accommodate the increase in capabilities.
The Middle East region has a high concentration of GE90-powered 777 aircraft, with the likes of Dubai-based airline Emirates operating more than 100 of the aircraft type.
Aviation Week’s Fleet & MRO Forecast data estimates the 10-year market for the GE90 is valued at approximately $942.9 billion.
In the Middle East region alone, $28.4 billion in MRO spend on the GE90 will be accumulated over the next decade.
