The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore has granted approval to Jetstar Asia, SilkAir, Singapore Airlines and Scoot Tigerair to carry cargo in the passenger cabin of their aircraft when these aircraft are used for cargo flights. These carriers are required to comply with a set of conditions such as ensuring that the cargo is loaded in accordance to the loading specifications of the cabin’s storage areas, ensuring that the cargo is properly packed and secured for various flight conditions, including turbulence or an emergency landing, and placing cargo in areas that do not impede access to emergency exits. Dangerous goods are not permitted on such flights. Cabin crew are also required to be on board these flights to manage any in-flight emergencies.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has extended its temporary ban on all international flights to Thailand until June 30, 2020. The ban does not apply to state or military aircraft, emergency landing, technical landing without disembarkation, humanitarian aid, medical and relief flights, repatriation flights and cargo flights.

India’s Director General Civil Aviation has decided to recommence domestic passenger flights on May 25, 2020.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-06-19 for certain Boeing 727s, 727Cs, 727-100s, 727-100Cs, 727-200s and 727-200Fs, requires a general visual inspection of certain angle of attack sensors and replacement of affected sensors, effective June 22, 2020.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-09-14 for Airbus A350-941s and -1041s, requiring revising the airplane flight manual to define a liquid-prohibited zone in the flight deck and provide procedures following liquid spillage on the center pedestal and installing a removable integrated control panel cover in the flight deck and further revising the manual to include instructions for cover use, effective June 4, 2020.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-09-11 for all Fokker F28 Mark 0070s and 0100s, requiring revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations, effective June 4, 2020.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-09-12 for certain De Havilland Aircraft of Canada DHC-8-400s, requiring an inspection for affected elevator power control unit assemblies, inspections of affected elevator unit arm fittings for nonconforming fillet radii and cracks, replacement if necessary, and re-identification of the affected elevator assemblies, effective June 24, 2020.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-09-16 for ATR42-200, -300s and -320s, requires revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations, effective June 22, 2020.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-10-10 for Boeing MD-81s, -82s, -83s, -87s, and -88s, requiring repetitive eddy current high frequency inspections for any cracking in the left and right side center wing lower skin and repair if any crack was found, plus expanding the inspection area to include adjacent stringers with similar stress levels and to perform repetitive inspections with increased sensitivity for crack detection, effective June 26, 2020.
