Kuwait-based aviation services provider National Aviation Services (NAS) has signed a partnership agreement with UAE-based MRO Global Jet Technic (GJT) to provide line maintenance services to airlines at Dubai International Airport and Sharjah Airport.

The companies will offer standard pre-flight inspections, as well as daily and weekly checks under NAS’s European Union Aviation Safety Agency certification for a variety of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Under the partnership, NAS will contribute its line maintenance expertise while GJT will contribute its local line maintenance proficiency, airport facilities and resources.

According to GJT, the partnership will help it expand its footprint outside the Gulf Area, where it currently operates with regulatory approvals from the UAE, Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.

“In line with the vision of GJT to expand outside the UAE and bring its quality services and technical expertise to customers in the region, GJT is partnering with NAS to tap into the potential [of] the wide network NAS can provide,” says Khamis Al Kaabi, chairman of GJT.

NAS has a presence at more than 55 airports across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, where it provides engineering and line maintenance services as well as ground, ramp and passenger handling. It serves more than 100 airline customers, including AirAsia, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Etihad, Lufthansa and Ethiopian Airlines.
