Component supplier Farsound Aviation will add more capacity at its UK headquarters by November as it looks to grow its pool of c-class, b-class and other consumable parts.

The company, which also offers supply chain consultancy with the likes of Iberia and HAESL among its customers, has purchased the building adjacent to its existing UK site in Romford, Essex for an undisclosed amount.

The purchase adds approximately 4,873 sq. ft. to its operation and will play a key role in Farsound’s growth plan, which will commence from 2021 despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Farsound hopes the expansion will lead to further job creation.

“We have been looking to expand since the end of last year due to new customers and increase in portfolio of parts,” says Lee Kelsey, group sales director at Farsound Aviation. “COVID-19 has slowed this down in 2020 but we are planning for the future and see we will need to hold more stock going forward.”

Long-term, Farsound foresees a move to a new facility in the UK to facilitate further growth, with plans to relocate to a 40,000 sq. ft. site in the area by 2022. Farsound currently has locations across the world in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Canada and Japan.
