Monarch Aircraft Engineering expanded its airframe capabilities in May 2016 after it was granted EASA and GCAA Part 145 approvals to carry out line maintenance work on the Airbus A380. The UK-based MRO provider offers the services for the widebody from its Birmingham, UK facility.
2-Magnetic MRO Adds To A320 Capabilities

Magnetic MRO gained capabilities to overhaul and repair A320 family aircraft life rafts in March 2016. The Estonian firm adds life raft services to its existing escape slide capabilities, which cover those used on the 737, 767 and A330.
3-Liebherr-Aerospace Expands Shanghai Center, Adds Capabilities

Liebherr-Aerospace China has doubled the capacity size of its Shanghai services center to 3,700 m² along with adding new MRO capabilities at the site. New capabilities include the maintenance of bleed and air conditioning systems including air cycle machines. In addition, it will now offer testing services of ATA 21/36 components for Airbus narrowbody and widebody aircraft, Bombardier and Embraer aircraft along with COMAC’s ARJ21-700 jet.
4-AMES Adds to Nacelle Repair Capabilities

Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES), the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) and Safran Nacelles joint venture, added new engine nacelle services and capabilities in late 2016 to target further growth in the Middle East and Indian peninsula’s airframe component segment. Dubai-based AMES said the capabilities build on a new FAA certificate and it will now be able to accommodate growing volumes of nacelle MRO work and offer composite repairs on aerostructure parts including radomes, winglets and flight control surfaces.
5-FL Technics Gets EASA Approval For A330 Base, Line Maintenance

Lithuanian maintenance provider FL Technics has been granted EASA certification for Airbus A330 base and line maintenance. The expanded EASA Part 145 approval will allow the MRO to carry out more maintenance services on the Pratt & Whitney PW4000-powered widebody. Work will be conducted at FL Technics’ MRO center located at Kaunas International Airport.
6-Lufthansa Technik Adds 787 Base Maintenance In Ireland

Lufthansa Technik Shannon has announced a multi-million-euro investment that opens the doors for the Boeing 787 later this year. The Shannon-based MRO will also be able to offer modifications, cabin and interior refurbishment, interior repair and paint, external paint repairs, specialized inspections, airworthiness directives, compliance checks and a full range of maintenance services for the 787.
7-SR Technics Extends Airbus Line Capabilities At Two Swiss Facilities

Swiss MRO SR Technics added line maintenance capabilities for the Airbus A350 and the LEAP-powered version of the A320neo at its facilities in Zurich and Geneva. The addition of the services saw SR Technics handle everything from routine checks to major overhauls on the aircraft.
8-Storm Aviation To Start Base Maintenance Services

Storm Aviation will expand its capabilities by announcing plans to introduce base maintenance services at its London-Stansted airport headquarters. The new services from the FL Technics subsidiary will include large component change programs, modifications and equalized scheduled base maintenance up to C-check level specifically for operators of Airbus A320 family and Boeing 757 aircraft.
