India-based MRO software provider HCLTech has added generative artificial intelligence capabilities to the latest iteration of its iMRO software, iMRO/4, to help aftermarket companies grapple with challenges and improve efficiency.
The software, which is HCLTech’s industry add-on to SAP for MRO, provides a variety of MRO capabilities to support processes across the maintenance life-cycle, including engineering, operations, scheduling, supply chain, customer engagement and support. It is used by companies such as SR Technics and Jet Aviation.
According to HCLTech, infusing generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into iMRO/4 will enable operators to raise the performance and efficiency of complex, high-value assets such as aircraft engines and components. The company will first launch a GenAI bot for the software with the goal of simplifying and streamlining service instructions for users, as well as shortening complex asset maintenance processes.
In the next phase, HCLTech says the GenAI-infused iMRO/4 will enable a comprehensive natural language inspection and repair findings report based on operative data within SAP S/4HANA.
“This infusion will go a long way in helping our clients to achieve greater efficiency, enhance asset utilization and reduce cost,” says Sadagopan Singam, executive vice president for digital business at HCLTech.
