AMSTERDAM—Continuing airworthiness management organization specialists at AMROS Group have seen growing demand for swift processing of structural damages, especially digitally. It is now the latest service partner to opt for 8tree's dentCHECK-as-a-Service.

“Having performed several hundred aircraft lease returns, we have come to understand the importance and risk of proper structural damage assessment,” says Frank Luchtenberg, from AMROS’ continuing airworthiness division. He believes dentCHECK is the right 3D dent-mapping tool for the job.

Delays in lease returns can cause exponential cost increases, so Luchtenberg says it becomes even more crucial to react quickly without compromising service quality. Naturally, the dentCHECK services will also extend to AMROS’ continuing airworthiness management organization (CAMO) customers.

AMROS plans to use the 3D dent-mapping service to improve quality in measurement, analysis and reporting of structural damage on all aircraft types, including scheduled or unscheduled inspections. Through the partnership with 8tree it will offer on-demand airframe inspection services in central Europe.

Luchtenberg says the technology will also help it achieve a set standard in structural damage assessments, which will reduce operator and owner risks while increasing assessment efficiency and quality. “This ultimately reduces ground times, complexity and costs throughout the entire value chain for the industry,” he notes.

Leonard Buck, 8Tree’s marketing manager, says dentCHECK adoption has increased with global MROs, airlines, OEMs and Tier 1s, and the broader market is calling for more powered mapping services.  “The concept is simple and designed to be extremely efficient for customers. Trained to be proficient with dentCHECK, our service partners apply their years of hands-on aviation knowledge to map the airframe. In parallel, 8tree begins generating detailed digital reports as the service partner completes mapping each specific panel, section or zone of the airframe,” he explains.

Earlier this year, VS Aviation became an 8tree certified service partner offering dentCHECK powered on-demand airframe inspection service in the Middle East. Buck says AMROS will help shape the dentCHECK-as-a-Service landscape in Europe. AMROS has managed more than 600 lease transitions, so Buck adds that its team will bring decades of hands-on structural engineering knowledge to the table.

Other dentCHECK users include American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Lufthansa Technik and HAECO.

Buck says 8tree will soon announce a new partnership to serve the Australia and New Zealand region.
