According to Aviation Week’s 2023 Fleet & MRO Forecast, commercial MRO demand in Africa will represent a value of $29.7 billion for the period of 2023-32.
The data shows that the majority of MRO demand in Africa will consist of engine maintenance work, around $14.6 billion. Components and line maintenance account for 21% and 17%, respectively, while modifications and airframe heavy will see demand around $2 billion and $1.6 billion, respectively.

In addition, the data shows that C checks and engine overhauls will comprise the largest share of MRO shop visits in the continent for the period of 2023-32.
It is forecast that Africa will see a total demand of 3,822 C checks and 3,733 shop visits related to engine overhauls. Meanwhile, there will be a demand of 1,024 D checks and 997 engine LLP events in the region over the next decade.
