DC Aviation Al-Futtaim gains San Marino maintenance approval for several business jets.
Dubai-based DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF) received San Marino Civil Aviation Authority CAR-145 maintenance approval for line and base maintenance, which will enable it to provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for business and commercial aircraft on the San Marino registry.
DCAF, a joint venture between Stuttgart-based DC Aviation and Dubai-based Al-Futtaim at Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai South), sees this new approval as “an important strategic addition” because the San Marino registry is one of the most popular for business aviation, “particularly for large-cabin and ultra-long-range aircraft operating internationally,” says managing director Holger Ostheimer.
The approval enables DCAF to provide base maintenance for Bombardier Global Express, Global 7500/8000, Challenger 604/605/650; Gulfstream G650; Embraer Legacy 600/650 and Airbus A320 aircraft. Line maintenance also includes Boeing Business Jets and Dassault Falcon 900EX, 7X and 8X.
“The approval strengthens our ability to support a broader customer base across the region” and serve “operators transiting between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia,” Ostheimer says.
DCAF—which also operates business aircraft and an FBO, is seeing sustained aircraft utilization in the Middle East. This is driving a need for more maintenance capacity in the region, especially for “comprehensive capabilities under one roof while minimizing aircraft downtime,” he adds.
Demand for unscheduled maintenance also is increasing, “particularly for internationally registered aircraft operating across multiple regions. As business jets undertake longer missions and more complex operating schedules, rapid technical response and access to certified maintenance facilities have become increasingly important,” Ostheimer says.
