
Boeing Wins Order Race
Boeing amassed the most orders at the Paris Air Show with 571 net orders placed by the week's conclusion. The total included 147 new for the 737MAX-10 along with 210 conversions. Key orders for the narrowbody jet included a commitment for 15 of the aircraft from lessor AerCap. Rival Airbus achieved 326 net orders.

Airbus Unveils The A380 Plus
Airbus showcased an upgraded version of its A380 superjumbo at the Paris Air Show. Christened the A380plus, the aircraft has a modified wingtip design which the OEM said will target fuel burn reductions of 4%.

CFM Posts Record Engine Orders
The industry's big engine players posted some impressive orders. CFM International had a record Paris Air Show, receiving combined orders of 1,658 its new generation LEAP engine and the CFM56 stalwart. Taking into account long-term service agreements, CFM achieved more than $27.3 billion at list price.

SIAEC, GE Aviation Form Asia-Pacific Engine Overhaul JV
Among the joint venture highlights was SIA Engineering Company forming an alliance with GE Aviation to open an engine overhaul facility focusing on services for the GE90 and GE9X, which power the Boeing 777-300 ER and 777-200LR respectively.

Bombardier Adds To Aftermarket Network
Bombardier announced a string of service agreements at the Paris Air Show. These included extending LOT Polish Airlines' Smart Parts coverage on its fleet of 10 Q400 aircraft. Jazz Technical Services became an Bombardier Authorized Service Facility (ASF). It will offer heavy maintenance services for Q Series turboprop and CRJ regional jet operators from its repair center in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A partnership with GKN Aerospace’s Fokker was expanded to provide aftermarket support for the CRJ.

Malaysia Advances Its Aftermarket Strategy
As part of ambitious plans to become Asia-Pacific's leading aerospace player by 2030, Malaysia signed a number of agreements at the Paris air show supporting its manufacturing, engineering and aftermarket base. Malaysia Airport Holdings (MAHB) signed a preliminary deal with South Korea’s Gyeongnam Techno Park (GNTP) to develop the Subang Aerotech Park, which will house manufacturing and maintenance sites for aero structures and components. An MoU was also agreed ith Danish company Skyways Technics to facilitate the latter’s expansion at Subang and Kuala Lumpur. International airports.

AFI KLM E&M Joins Rolls-Royce Care Network
AFI KLM E&M and Rolls-Royce announced a maintenance partnership focusing on Trent XWB engine maintenance for Airbus A350 operators at the Paris Air Show. As part of a maintenance program overseen by the British engine manufacturer, AFI KLM E&M will develop capabilities for parts on the turbofan engines and their components as part of its CareNetwork.
Last week saw the conclusion of the 2017 Paris Air Show, the bi-annual event used to showcase a plethora of multi-billion dollar aircraft orders, engine commitments and service contracts.
