Aftermarket specialist AerSale has chosen Precision Aircraft Solutions to convert six more Boeing 757-200s to freighters, with options on a further four aircraft.
The latest commitment takes AerSale’s total backlog with Precision to as many as 16 aircraft.
AerSale Chairman and CEO Nick Finazzo said the conversions are helping to address a market shortage of freighter aircraft.
“We are able to provide timely relief to the supply chain through converted 757-200 aircraft,” Finazzo said. “Our relationship with Precision is critical to our efforts.”
AerSale put its first 757-200 in for conversion in January 2021 and its sixth aircraft will be inducted in February 2022.
Later in 2022, AerSale will begin inducting additional 757-200 conversions from HAECO Xiamen to supplement existing capacity in North America.
“Precision has substantially increased production capacity for both A321 and 757 conversion programs to meet the unprecedented demand,” Precision Aircraft Solutions President Gary Warner said.
