Mesoamerica Postpones Start Of Operations
Mexico's startup Mesoamerica Airlines last week postponed its inaugural to February 2001 or later with an initial capitalization of $65 million and medium-range, new-generation jets on domestic trunk and feeder routes. Guillermo Heredia, Mesoamerica's CEO, told the media the delay, which began before last Tuesday's terrorist attack in the U.S., is caused by the "slowing down of the U.S. economy, the restructuring of the airline market and the lack of a national civil aviation policy.
