INTELLIGENCE: Boeing Claims 777 Has Better Turnback Stats Than The A340
Boeing claims its data show the air turn-back and diversion rate of the twin-engine 777 is half of the four-engine Airbus A340. Turnbacks and diversions of the 777 were about 0.28 per 1,000 departures, while the rate of the A340 was about 0.58.
