DOT Fines Colombia’s Aires $25,000

The U.S. Transportation Department has fined Colombian carrier Aires $25,000 for attempting to exclude itself from the Montreal Convention’s baggage liability conditions. The LAN Airlines carrier will pay only half the fine unless it continues to violate DOT’s cease-and-desist order.
