The French navy has taken delivery of the first of three Pilatus PC-24 aircraft from Jet Aviation, which will provide ongoing support for the fleet.

The PC-24s will be used primarily for pilot training, including instrument flight training and periodic proficiency checks, and for transporting urgent cargo when required. Delivery of the remaining aircraft will occur in subsequent phases, Jet Aviation says. It did not give a timeline. Jet Aviation is a division of General Dynamics.

The delivery is part of a contract between Jet Aviation France and the Direction de la Maintenance Aéronautique (DMAé), which covers aircraft acquisition, leasing and sustainment tailored to the French navy’s specific requirements for operation. As part of the contract, Jet Aviation will provide an on-site team to provide maintenance, the continuation of airworthiness management in support of the fleet.

“This is the culmination of many months of collaboration and partnership between our team, the DMAé and Pilatus, and it has been a privilege to work together to bring these aircraft into service,” said Jeremie Cailet, Jet Aviation president. “This program reflects Jet Aviation’s continued commitment to evolving our services to meet the needs of our customers. By bringing together aircraft ownership, leasing and sustainment within a single solution, we deliver seamless support tailored to the specific operational requirements of the French navy fleet.”
