The Turkish air force is in the midst of a multi-billion-dollar investment program to replace or upgrade its legacy fleets of airlifters, fighters and trainers. The Airbus A400M is already joining the ranks as the country’s new transport aircraft, and the Lockheed Martin F-35 will enter service at the end of the decade. Turkey is also looking to replace the General Dynamics F-16 during the 2030s with a domestically produced new fighter.
