LOS ANGELES—The Leap-1C has received simultaneous U.S. and European certification, clearing the way for upcoming flight tests of the Comac C919. This is the first engine for which CFM provides the entire propulsion system, including the nacelle and thrust reverser. The Leap-1C was the first engine in CFM’s Leap family to launch when Comac selected it for the C919 in December 2009.
