MD Onboard, a provider of inflight safety and healthcare services, has partnered with Crisis24, a global AI-enhanced platform for critical event management, crisis-security counseling and personal protection services.

The services allow organizations, “disruptive” brands and “influential people” to operate with confidence in an uncertain world, Crisis 24 says.

Together, the partnership will provide a comprehensive security and medical support program for business aviation operators and commercial airlines. It offers real-time medical and security assistance, integrated dashboards for oversight, global medical and security alerts and intelligence within one unified platform, the companies say.

“This collaboration is a significant step forward to support the aviation industry with best-in-class solutions,” says Grant Jeffery, MD Onboard CEO. “By combining our medical and technological expertise with Crisis24’s unmatched security intelligence and global response capabilities, we are delivering a turnkey solution that enables airlines and business aviation operators to proactively manage both medical and security incidents with greater speed, precision and confidence.”

MD Onboard is a division of Northwell Health, a New York State health provider. The company offers medical services to aircraft operators and passengers, connecting pilots and the cabin crew to a medical team trained in aviation medicine.

Calls from aircraft crew go directly to a paramedic or emergency medical doctor in real time, who then guide flight crews with recommendations for treatment and advise whether to divert, depending on the medical emergency, Jefferey tells Aviation Week. A two-way video call enables the team to see the patient and check on medications. Translators are available to bridge communication gaps.

If diverting, MD Onboard will help the crew find the nearest airport and medical facility, coordinate with ground operations staff and others, and notify the hospital of an incoming patient.

Other services include providing security advice for hotel stays and risk ratings for more than 400 cities in more than 200 countries.
