Skyports Infrastructure Supports eVTOL demos

Skyports Infrastructure supported eVTOL demonstrations conducted by Japan’s SkyDrive at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center Feb. 24-28, providing a temporary vertiport terminal integrated with its Vertiport Automation System. SkyDrive’s SD-05 conducted remotely piloted flights over Toyko Bay.

Brazil Authorizes Speedbird

Drone delivery provider Speedbird has been authorized by Brazilian aviation regulator ANAC to operate over areas with a population density of up to 12,950 people per mi.²—equivalent to residential neighborhoods—expanding the scope of its beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations in Brazil.

SEA Milan Opens New Wing

SEA Milan Airports, manager of Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate airports; and SEA Prime, an Italian business and general aviation airport manager; are celebrating the opening of a new wing of the Milano Linate Prime Terminal, with new passenger lounge areas and expanding parking. Work began in December 2024. The expansion is part of the company’s growth strategy, which in 2025 managed 35,900 business aviation movements, up 7% at Milano Linate Prime compared to the previous year.

Semper Fly Helicopters Opens Bell Training Facility

Bell Textron and Semper Fly Helicopters announce the opening of a new Bell Certified Training Facility (CTF) to provide additional regional training for the Bell 206B. Semper Fly Helicopters is a veteran-owned, woman-owned small business based in Norman, Oklahoma. It operates an FAA Part 141 helicopter flight training program and provides training for the University of Oklahoma’s aviation program. Certifying Semper Fly as a Bell training facility provides Bell 206B customers with expanded training options.

Life Flight Orders 12 PC-12 PROs

Life Flight Network has placed a firm order for 12 Pilatus PC-12 PROS with a 10-year agreement, with additional options for future fleet expansion. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027. The aircraft, to be delivered by Pilatus through its Broomfield, Colorado-based operation, will be outfitted for Intensive Care Unit level care and transport.

National Transmission Co. Of South Africa To Add Bell 407GXis

The National Transmission Co. of South Africa has signed a purchase agreement for seven Bell 407GXis for utility operations, including high voltage power line maintenance, emergency management and operational support. The NTCSA is an operator of South Africa’s national electricity transmission grid.

Joby Completes Demo Of First FAA-Conforming eVTOL Aircraft

Joby Aviation on March 13 completed a piloted demonstration flight over the San Francisco Bay Area and Golden Gate Bridge with its first FAA-conforming eVTOL aircraft, landing at Oakland Airport. The flight launched Joby’s planned 2026 Electric Skies Tour nationwide demonstration.

Gulfstream Appoints MJets As Sales Rep In Thailand

Gulfstream Aerospace has appointed MJets Limited, a private aviation service provider in Asia, as an authorized sales representative for Gulfstream aircraft sales in Thailand. MJets will be responsible for promoting and supporting Gulfstream with customers and prospects within the country. Gulfstream continues to experience significant growth in Asia, it says, especially for its G700 and G800 ultralong-range business jets.

Brazil Certifies Daher TBM 980

Daher Aircraft’s TBM 980 has been certified by Brazil’s ANAC airworthiness authority (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), which clears the way for deliveries to begin in the country and surrounding region. The turboprop was unveiled on Jan. 15 in Tarbes, France, following its certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the FAA. Five aircraft have been delivered to U.S. customers from Daher’s final assembly line in Tarbes.

EHang Forms Partnership With Türk Telekom, Argela

China’s EHang has signed a strategic partnership with Turkish telecommunications company Türk Telekom and its technology subsidiary Argela to deploy AAM services combining EHang’s EH216-S eVTOL aircraft with Argela’s unmanned traffic management system and Türk Telekom’s 5G network.

Aridge Secures Additional Funding

Aridge, the eVTOL subsidiary of Chene automaker XPeng, has secured an additional $200 million in funding, taking the total raised to about $1 billion. Five two-seat eVTOLs rolled off its Guangzhou assembly line on March 5, signaling the transition from development to production, Aridge says.

Blackhawk Group, Wetzel Partner On King Air Upgrade Program

The Blackhawk Group has entered a partnership with Wetzel Aviation to acquire, upgrade and resell turboprop aircraft with a focus on platforms central to Blackhawk’s engine upgrade STC portfolio. The program’s emphasis will be on all variants of the Beechcraft King Air. The partnership also applies to Caravan, Cheyenne and Conquest aircraft. Upgrades include engines, avionics, airframe modifications, fresh DOC checks, cleared time items and paint and interior as needed. Aircraft sales for Blackhawk’s TBM models will still be managed by AVEX.

Alt Air Partners With Eve, Skyports

Sydney, Australia-based advanced air mobility (AAM) startup Alt Air has partnered with eVTOL manufacturer Eve Air Mobility and vertiports developer Skyports Infrastructure to co-develop an integrated operational plan for commercial eVTOL services across New South Wales and Queensland.

Royal Flying Doctor Takes First Of Five PC-12 PRO Aircraft

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Central Operations has taken delivery of the first of five new Pilatus PC-12 PROs. The aircraft will fly through the central corridor of South Australia and Northern Territory providing medical care in some of Australia’s remotest regions, it says. The pressurized cabin can accommodate patients, crew and high-tech medical equipment. The large cargo door and lift system facilitates quick patient loading, it says.

Haven Aviation Services Opens Amarillo FBO

Haven Aviation Services Group in Amarillo, Texas, has opened a newly constructed, full-service, fixed-base operator (FBO) at the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport. The terminal features passenger and crew lounges, contemporary conference rooms with seating for 12, private workspaces and a dedicated line service team. It also has direct access to Haven MRO, an on-site maintenance provider. It also offers rest areas, a massage chair, shower facilities and a pilot lounge. The FBO also includes 35,000-ft.² of hangar space. The Haven FBO joins Haven Aero, a Part 135 charter and aircraft management operation, and Haven MRO to provide a comprehensive approach to aviation support, officials say.

Pivotal Partners On Emergency Medical Response With eVTOLs

Pivotal plans a proof-of-concept project with Hyde County Emergency Services and Code Blue Resources in North Carolina to establish a scalable emergency medical response using Helix ultralight eVTOLs. Flight-trained paramedics will serve as volunteer pilots, deploying medical care to acute emergency scenes.

Cavorite X7 To Have 75% Lower Operating Cost, Study Says

Canadian startup Horizon Aircraft says its planned Cavorite X7 piloted six-passenger hybrid eVTOL will have a 75% lower operating cost than conventional helicopters, saying an analysis by an unidentified “leading independent audit firm” validates its projected $0.97 per available seat mile cost.

ePlane Selects Hensoldt For Air Taxi Avionics

Indian startup ePlane has selected Germany’s Hensoldt to supply avionics for its e200X eVTOL air taxi, including the EuroNav 7 Next Gen map-based mission management system, CaviSight visual landing system, and RF1 smart antenna for collision avoidance.

German startup MD Aircraft has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Bengaluru, India-based Makmor for 10 MDA1 eViator nine-passenger electric regional aircraft. MD Aircraft is aiming to begin flight testing of the MDA1 in early 2028, targeting certification and entry into service in 2030.

Seaplane Asia Group, NexAvia Sign MOU

Singapore-based seaplane operation Seaplane Asia Group has signed an MOU with NexAvia, a Singapore and Canada-based aviation consulting company specializing in AAM. The organizations will coordinate efforts to engage with agencies, regulators and industry across Southeast Asia.

Elevate Jet has created a new mobile app designed to book a private jet as quickly as a car through a rideshare service business, it says. The service combining artificial intelligence tools with its operations and client services. Through the app, clients can see pricing, select the proper aircraft, see pricing and book, eliminating multiple calls, it says. The app also integrates a 300-point checklist capturing operational requirements and individual traveler preferences, it says.

ExecuJet Haite Earns Approvals For G700

ExecuJet Haite Aviation Services has been approved by the FAA, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority to perform line service and heavy maintenance on the Gulfstream G700 ultra-long-range business jet, it announced. With the multi-authority approval, Execujet Haite’s facilities in Tianjin and Beijing Daxing are authorized to support the aircraft.

DHL, Lodd To Study Adding eVTOLs Into UAE Network

DHL Express has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Lodd Autonomous to study how the Abu Dhabi-based startup’s Hili eVTOL uncrewed cargo aircraft could be integrated into DHL’s delivery network in the United Arab Emirates. The hybrid-electric Hili is designed to carry a 250 kg (550 lb.) payload 700 km.

Blue Skies Aviation Opens Training School

Blue Skies Aviation Solutions in Sri Lanka has launched an Approved Training Organization with a fleet made up of all Tecnam aircraft, including three P-Mentor and one twin-engine P2006T NG aircraft. The pilot training provider will begin operations with an initial intake of 15 student pilots, with a plan for four new students a year. It plans to grow to an annual training capacity of up to 60. It will offer training for a private pilot license, commercial pilot license and visual/instrument flight rules.

Catheter Precision Buys Stake In Fly Flyte

U.S. medical device company Catheter Precision has bought a 20% stake in Fly Flyte, a South Carolina-based Part 135 operator. Fly Flyte’s subsidiary, Ponderosa Air, operates Cirrus Vision Jets on short-haul regional routes on which it plans to introduce eVTOL aircraft once they are certified.

AIR Tashkent, Samson Sky To Bring Switchblade To Central Asia

AIR Tashkent of Uzbekistan and Samson Sky of the U.S. have completed an agreement to bring the Switchblade Flying Car to Uzbekistan in Central Asia. The two will work together to facilitate the sale of 300 or more Switchblade Flying Cars to Uzbekistan in a deal valued at more than $60 million.

Andorra Aviation To Launch Ab Initio Training in Spain

Andorra Aviation Academy, located in Andorra la Vella in the Pyrenees, is launching flight operations with the acquisition of an Elixir aircraft with delivery set for mid-2026. Andorra plans to begin practical flight training operations at Andorra-La Seu d’Urgell Airport in Spain by September 2026. It will use the Elixir for ab initio training and a Cirrus SR20 G7+ for advanced training. Today, 50 Elixir aircraft are in operation with more than 300 on order, Elixir says.

Elevate Launches App To Order Jet Like a Car Service

Elevate Jet has launched a new mobile app, it says will make ordering a private jet as easy as obtaining car service. Clients will select the right aircraft, see pricing, and book in seconds, the company says. The app is powered by a proprietary artificial intelligence agent called Ruby and delivers pricing across six aircraft categories. It analyzes factors such as range, availability, fuel requirements, crew limits and aircraft constraints to select the right aircraft. It then will generate an itinerary in seconds, the company says. The app eliminates the need for calls to a sales representative.

FlyHouse, a private jet charter provider, is expanding business into Brazil through a partnership with TAM Aviacao Executiva, a Brazilian business aviation operator, marking a major step in its growth strategy, it says. TAM Aviacao Executiva operates a fleet of six light-to-super-midsize jets and rotorcraft and offers aircraft management, charter, maintenance, training and FBO services. The partnership will integrate Brazilian aircraft and operators into FlyHouse platforms.
