Fly and Eat App

Rick Rzepka, an Ohio-based dentist, created the Fly-n-Eat app to help pilots find places to eat on trip. He also is building a CFI/CFII database to connect pilots with instructors while using the app in case they need a flight review. “Fly-in-Eat sets them up for a perfect combination—flight certification and culinary adventure in a single trip,” says Rzepka, who also is a pilot.

Honeywell Weather Radar Certified For Learjet  40/45 In Brazil

Honeywell’s IntuVue RDR-7000 Weather Radar System is now certified by Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) for Bombardier Learjet 40/45 aircraft. The RDR-7000 is a fully automated weather radar system with a scanning range of up to 60,000 ft. According to Honeywell, the new system offers enhanced reliability, accuracy and durability when compared to legacy magnetron-based radar systems. The system can be retrofitted onto many fixed- and rotor-wing aircraft and serves as a standard for OMNI Air Taxi’s fleet of Leonardo AW139 helicopters in South America, Honeywell says.

Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X Engine Approaching Final Stage Of Certification

Rolls-Royce has signaled strong progress in the development of its Pearl 10X engine development program. According to the company, the engine has passed 3,400 testing hr. via the Advance2 demonstrator and the Pearl 10X engine configuration. The engine can produce thrust over 18,000 lbf. through use of its Advance2 engine core, which Rolls-Royce describes as “the most efficient core available across the business aviation sector.” Additionally, the engine is compatible with 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) while still offering ultra-long-range trip capabilities, according to Rolls-Royce.

Elevate Jet Adds Two Bombardier Challenger 650s To Fleet

Two Bombardier Challenger 650 aircraft body have joined Elevate Jet’s fleet of charter aircraft. One of the aircraft will operate under Part 91 to serve a private owner with “personalized management solutions,” the company says. The second aircraft will operate under Part 135 charter. Both will be supported by Elevate Jet’s in-house MRO team and charter placement services. The Challenger 650 is capable of seating up to 12 passengers with a range of 4,000 nm.

Embraer To Offer Gogo Galileo For Phenom 300 Jets

Embraer announced its plans to offer Gogo’s Galileo HDX inflight connectivity solution for Phenom 300 customers as an aftermarket option, made possible through a supplemental type certificate (STC) earned in partnership with Gogo. According to Embraer, the installation involves a compact half-duplex antenna and one Line Replaceable Unit (LRU). The connection provided by Gogo is powered by the Eutelsat OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, capable of 4K streaming, high-quality video conferencing, online gaming and large file transfers, according to Gogo.

MySky Acquires U.S. State Tax Guide From JSSI

MySky is acquiring the State Tax Guide, previously owned by Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI). According to MySky, the integration of the State Tax Guide will eliminate the need for cross-referencing external resources for operators and advisors, taking advantage of the guide’s comprehensive and up-to-date U.S. state aviation tax information. The guide will complement MySky’s existing federal tax features, “removing friction from compliance processes,” says Ryan DeMoor, head of aviation tax at MySky.

Embry-Riddle Launches ATM Associate’s Degree Program

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has launched an Associate of Science in Air Traffic Management program, with classes beginning in August 2025. The program, approved as part of the FAA’s Enhanced Air Traffic Controller Training Initiative (AT-CTI), allows for students to forgo academy training in Oklahoma and continue on to on-the-job training. The program comes in addition to the school’s preexisting Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management, which received FAA training initiative approval in 2024.

Eve Air Mobility Receives $15.8M FINEP Grant

Brazil’s Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (FINEP) selected Eve Air Mobility to receive its grant of up to $15.8 million. Combined with Eve’s required company contribution, the total project investment reaches up to $33.8 million. According to Eve, the grant funds were awarded under FINEP’s public selection of “Technologies for More Sustainable Aviation,” which includes the company’s ongoing work in autonomous flight systems, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), hybrid-electric propulsion and more.

StandardAero, Green Taxi Solutions Partner For First eTaxi System

StandardAero has partnered with Green Taxi Solutions (GTS) in its effort to certify the first electric aircraft taxiing system. The partnership is backed by a recently awarded $5.6 million FAA Continuous Lower Energy, Emissions and Noise (CLEEN) program grant to expedite development of the “eTaxi” system. According to StandardAero, the eTaxi system is powered by an aircraft’s auxiliary power unit (APU) and can generate an estimated annual savings of 80,000 gal. of fuel and $250,000 per aircraft.

Textron Launches New FDM Service For Cessna Citation And SkyCourier Customers

Textron Aviation announced a new option for Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) service for Cessna Citation business jets and Cessna SkyCourier aircraft equipped with an Aircraft Recording System (AReS). According to Textron, customers can choose to transfer their flight data in their proprietary LinxUs data reporting ecosystem through General Electric (GE) Aerospace’s C-FOQA service. The LinxUs FDM program enables the customer’s choice between four providers: GE Aerospace’s C-FOQA service, Acron Aviation’s Flight Data Connect service, ForeFlight’s Flight Data Analysis and Safran Electronics and Defense’s Cassiopée Flight Data Monitoring service.

George J. Priester Aviation Adds 10 Aircraft To Managed Fleet

George J. Priester Aviation grew its fleet of managed aircraft by 10 so far in 2025, growing its roster to nearly 90 aircraft. According to the company, the additional aircraft include planes based in Colorado, Illinois and Texas. The company’s managed fleet includes aircraft such as Gulfstream, Cessna Citation, Dassault Falcon Jet aircraft and an Embraer Praetor 500, a Bombardier Learjet 45 and a Boeing Business Jet. George J. Priester Aviation operates three brands: Priester Aviation, Mayo Aviation and Hill Private Aviation.

JSSI, IADA Foundation Launch Aviation Innovation Grant

Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI) and the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) Foundation have partnered to launch the JSSI Aviation Innovation Grant. According to the two organizations, the grant is designed to provide funding and mentorship to the “next generation of aviation entrepreneurs.” The grant offers a $5,000 award to a college student who shows promise, creativity and a strong business case for aviation-focused innovation. Students can apply for the grant from June 1 to Sept. 1, 2025. The award will be presented during IADA’s fall meeting in October 2025.

Jet Parts Rebrands To DAS Aviation

Jet Parts will now operate as DAS Aviation, following a merger that combines Jet Parts’ inventory with DAS Aviation’s MRO capabilities in Cedar Hill, Texas and Solon, Ohio. Combined, the two facilities include over 100,000 ft.² of shop space, in addition to a 44,000 ft.² warehouse in Collinsville, Illinois. According to DAS Aviation, the company will continue to provide services for airframe structural repair, sheet metal fabrication, component overhaul and more.

Menzies Aviation Expands Air Cargo Network In Norway

Menzies Aviation announced its acquisition of Spirit Cargo Handling in Norway. The company, previously owned by SAS Ground Handling Norway, will now boost Menzies’ cargo handling capacity by 150,000 tons per year, according to the company. The acquisition includes Spirit Cargo’s warehouse at Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL), where it will resume responsibility for employee contracts and existing freighter operations.

ACJ Adds Fokker Services Group To Approved Outfitters Network

Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) has selected Fokker Services Group (FSG) as the newest member of its approved ACJ outfitters and completions network. FSG’s base in Hoogerheide, Netherlands will now offer a variety of outfitting capabilities for ACJ320neo and ACJ330 family aircraft. According to ACJ, Airbus will act as the turnkey contracted provider for operators of new “green” factory-produced ACJ aircraft, which will then be completed by the customer’s selected Airbus-approved outfitter.

Textron Delivers First Cessna Citation Longitude In Central America

Textron Aviation announced the first delivery of its Cessna Citation Longitude to a customer in Costa Rica. According to Textron, the super-midsize aircraft will be used for business and personal travel and boasts a range of 3,500 nm. and a fuel payload of 1,600 lb. Textron says that of the over 100 Cessna turbine aircraft in Central America, Citation business jets comprise more than 30 of them.

Euro Jet Expands Operations In Baltic Region

Euro Jet announced the expansion of its operations in all countries and major cities in the Baltic region. The company’s local representatives in Estonia and Latvia will now be available to assist in Tallinn and Riga, as well as at regional airports such as Tartu, Parnu and Amari. According to Euro Jet, Katarzyna Kopanska is serving as manager for the Baltic region—leading operations as the company prepares for a busy summer season along the Adriatic Coast, it says.

Tecnam Appoints Kristal.Aero As Exclusive Dealer For France

Tecnam has named Kristal.Aero as its exclusive dealer for France, furthering the company’s strategic development across Europe. Kristal.Aero will handle sales and promotion of Tecnam’s P-Mentor, P2006T NG, P2008 JC and Gran Lusso aircraft. As part of the agreement, Kristal.Aero will also launch Kristal.145—a Tecnam-authorized maintenance network for nationwide support, training and parts supply. According to Tecnam, the two companies are exhibiting together at the France Air Expo in Lyon on June 5-7, 2025.

Bombardier To Showcase Global 7500, Challenger 3500 At Catarina Aviation Show

Bombardier announced plans to showcase its Global 7500 and Challenger 3500 aircraft at the Catarina Aviation Show in São Paulo, Brazil, on June 5-7. According to Bombardier, the Global 7500 offers “exceptional” runway performance and is well-suited for high and short airfields. The company’s sales team will accompany the aircraft during the show, as the Brazilian market is “very important for Bombardier,” the company says.

Menzies Aviation Makes ‘Bold Progress’ Towards Sustainability Commitments

Menzies Aviation released its 2024 annual review and sustainability report, reporting “bold progress” toward its “All In” sustainability strategy. According to Menzies, the company became the first major aviation services provider to have its net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), in pursuit of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2045. Menzies electrified 22% of its global Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in 2024 and has increased that to 24% to date, it says. Additionally, the company established two new environmental targets: zero waste to landfill for its cargo operations by the end of 2026 and reducing its paper consumption by 10% this year.

Duncan Aviation Completes Falcon 900EX Refurbishment

Duncan Aviation announced the completion of a major paint and interior refurbishment of a Dassault Falcon 900EX at its facility in Lincoln, Nebraska. According to Duncan, several modifications were made, including a mid-cabin divider removal, in-house designed PSU overlays and the addition of Collins Aerospace’s Venue Cabin Management System (CMS). Additionally, the company installed a variety of materials throughout the cabin, including leather for the lower sidewalls and veneer solid doors for the galley tower.

Execujet Haite Approved For Maintenance In Kazakhstan

ExecuJet Haite has received approval from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK) for line and base maintenance on Bombardier Challenger and Embraer Legacy aircraft. According to the company, this is its first certification in the Central Asian region. The certification serves as a growth opportunity in the wider central Asian region, complementing its heavy maintenance base at Beijing Daxing International Airport and Tianjin Binhai International Airport, according to Paul Desgrosseilliers, Execujet Haite general manager.

At the event, Jets MRO will debut its new maintenance facility, which has been designed for maximized technician efficiency, according to the company. Jet Access will debut its new full-service FBO. The facility will feature state-of-the-art aircraft accommodations and expert maintenance support through Jets MRO, according to Jet Access.

FSTC Europe Expands Training Fleet With Tecnam Aircraft

FSTC Europe, a Greece-based flight school, announced its purchase of four Tecnam P-Mentor and two P2006T NG aircraft. According to the school, the six new aircraft will be used for training toward Private Pilot Licenses (PPLs), Commercial Pilot Licenses (CPLs), Instrument Rating (IR) and Multi-Engine Ratings (MEP). Additionally, the school is expected to announce its rebranding in the near future.

Signature Aviation Opens Facility At Westhampton Beach

Signature Aviation announced the opening of its newest operation at Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK) in Westhampton Beach, New York. The facility includes approximately 350,000 ft.² of ramp space available, with aircraft parking access at the time of launch, according to the company. Additionally, Signature plans to rebuild the facility with the construction of a new terminal. Upon completion in 2026, the facility will include a 5,600 ft.² private terminal with over 60,000 ft.² of hangar space for offices and shops.

Flexjet Begins Construction On Private Terminal In Arizona

Flexjet broke ground on a $36 million private terminal in Scottsdale, Arizona. The facility will include a 9,000 ft.² customer terminal, 9,500 ft.² of office space and 34,000 ft.² in maintenance hangar space. According to Flexjet, the design of the facility will take cues from the company’s global headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. The facility’s 2,400 ft.² outdoor terrace will include a scenic backdrop of the McDowell Mountains, which will also serve as an event space for customers. According to the company, the facility will include complimentary workspace, a meeting venue with high-speed Wi-Fi and a 24/7 private underground car park.

Gulfstream Delivers 50th G700 Aircraft

Gulfstream Aerospace announced the 50th delivery of a Gulfstream G700. According to the company, the aircraft was outfitted at Gulfstream’s completion center in Savannah, Georgia. Globally, the active fleet of G700s has accumulated more than 11,700 flight hr. since its entry into service in April 2024. According to Gulfstream, the aircraft has achieved over 80 city-pair speed records, sporting a top speed of Mach 0.935.

ExecuJet Middle East Expands Ultra-Long-Range Fleet

ExecuJet Middle East announced the expansion of its fleet with the addition of several ultra-long-range business jets. According to the company, the fleet now includes the Bombardier Global 7500, Global 6000, Global 5000, Challenger 650, Gulfstream G650ER, Dassault Falcon 7X, Falcon 8X and the Boeing Business Jet. The new additions will operate out of the company’s newly opened private jet terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai.

Avfuel, Overland Aviation Offering SAF In Midwest U.S.

Avfuel and Overland Aviation, a luxury FBO in North Dakota, are partnering to provide sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the Midwest. The FBO received a delivery of 8,000 gal. of SAF at Williston Basin International Airport (KXWA) on May 12, made possible by a SAF supply agreement between Avfuel and Valero Marketing and Supply Company. According to Tanner Overland, president and founder of Overland Aviation, the company is “proud to help lead the charge in introducing SAF to the Midwest.”

Signature Aviation Announces Global BRAVO Program Expansion

Signature Aviation announced the global expansion of its BRAVO program to “meet the evolving needs for small- and medium-sized operators.” According to Signature, more than 3,000 operators participate in the free program, which offers discounted handling services at non-U.S. locations, price commitments on Jet A fuel at U.S. locations and Signature’s Gold status.
