A group of 300 U.S. pilot and aviation organizations are advocating for standard airport diagram labels for general aviation aircraft parking.

Pilots would have an easier time selecting a destination after landing at an airport if the terms were standard, according to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), which assembled the group.

In a review of airport diagrams, the AOPA found 30 different parking terms for the same type of ramp in Southern California alone.
