WICHITA—As the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) 2023 prepares to open in Geneva, Switzerland, Textron Aviation announced plans to expand simulator options in Europe with the addition of a new Citation CJ3+/Citation M2 Gen2 convertible full-flight simulator.
EBACE runs May 23-25 at the Palexpo convention center at the Geneva International Airport.
The simulator, designed and manufactured by TRU Simulation + Training, will be used for training at FlightSafety International’s Farnborough, England, Learning Center. The simulator will be ready for training in January 2025, the company says.
“Our customers rely on us to design and deliver the best aviation experience, and that includes supporting them throughout their entire aircraft ownership journey,” says Duncan Van De Velde, Textron Aviation vice president of sales in Europe. “We are pleased to share this new training option for customers in Europe who trust Cessna Citations to fulfill their missions.”
FlightSafety’s Farnborough location provides EASA training for corporate and regional aircraft.
The simulator will be equipped with Garmin G3000 avionics and feature real aircraft parts throughout the cockpit for an accurate representation of the aircraft, the company says. The design includes a third-generation control loading system to produce a realistic flight experience.
It also integrates TRU’s RealCue system that uses an electric motion base with 42-in. stroke actuators. The visual system will be equipped with FlightSafety’s Vital 1150 image generation system, a large array of high-resolution airfield models and high-definition projectors on a 200 x 40-deg. display for an immersive training experience, the company says. It also includes configurable seating.
