Gallery: Bombardier Builds Connecticut’s Workforce

Bombardier’s 192,080 ft.² site at BDL includes dedicated hangars for Challengers and Globals. The Challenger hangar was busy during BCA’s visit. Tail numbers have been obscured by request.

The nose cone of this super-midsize Challenger 3500 is opened to reveal the jet’s weather radar antenna. Challenger 3500s are equipped with the Collins MultiScan weather radar system.

One of the four permanent tail stands in the Challenger hangar. They allow maintenance technicians to work on the jet’s tail without using a scissor lift.

Separate of the Challenger and Global hangars, Bombardier has a hangar for its demonstration aircraft. Parked there during BCA’s visit was a 7,700-nm-range Global 7500, which seats up to 19 passengers.

Bombardier offered tours of its Global 7500 demonstration aircraft for state and local officials who attended the FastTrack training event.

“Connecticut’s aviation and aerospace industries continue to grow and employers across our state are facing an urgent need for skilled technicians,” said Alice Pritchard, executive director of the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System.
