Action Aviation will install the FDX terminal on a Boeing Business Jet.
Action Aviation of Dubai is the first customer in the Middle East to equip with the Gogo Galileo FDX flat-panel, electronically steerable antenna for broadband inflight connectivity, Gogo said Nov. 17.
The private aviation services company will install the fuselage-mounted satellite terminal on a Boeing Business Jet 737-700.
The FDX terminal for super-midsize and larger business jets is a full-duplex electronically steerable antenna that can simultaneously transmit and receive data. It works in conjunction with Gogo’s Avance or SDR Gateway router platforms to connect with the Eutelsat OneWeb Ku-band, low Earth orbit satellite network.
Joining the smaller Galileo HDX terminal for super-midsize and lighter jets, the FDX potentially can be installed on 200 Boeing BBJ 737s, Gogo has said.
“When evaluating connectivity solutions, we wanted more than incremental improvement—we wanted a system that would redefine what global inflight connectivity can deliver,” Action Aviation CEO Mark Butler said. “After extensive research and consultation, we selected Gogo Galileo FDX as the clear choice for achieving high-speed, reliable, and truly global broadband performance.”
