From The Archives: Starship 1 Shows Wing Design In Flyby
Scale Composites Inc. built this 85% scale version of the Beech Aircraft Starship 1 which showcased its flying capabilities at the NBAA show in Dallas, Tex.
Flaps are extended and the variable-geometry forward wing is in the full forward position during a slow-speed flight. We reported that the aircraft is powered by Pratt & Whitney of Canada PT6A-60 turboprop engines.
