From The Archives: Pilot Report - Lear Jet Handling Resembles Light Twin

In the March 9, 1964 issue of Aviation Week & Space Technology we published a pilot report on the Lear Jet Corp's Model 23, an executive turbojet.

As part of the feature, you can also see more images of the aircraft interior and exterior and its specifications.

Our pilot and reporter David A. Brown wrote that it was powered by General Electric CJ610-1 engines which give it a design limit speed of Mach .82 above 24,000 ft.

He described the walk-around the aircraft as simple as checking fuel-filler caps and checking for fuel and hydraulic fluid leaks.

Brown said the visibility was "excellent" and the "Lear Jet had excellent aerobatic characteristics."
