From The Archives: Pilot Report - Socata/Aerospatiale TBM 700

Socata/Aerospatiale TBM 700 combines twin-engine cabin class comfort with the lower operating costs of a single turboprop engine. The aircraft can operate from small airports and is capable of cruising at 300 kt. true airspeed 26,000 ft.
Our pilot evaluated the third production prototype TBM 700 shown here during a 4-hr. cross-country flight.
The French Socata/Aerospatiale TBM 700 has unique technical features that identify it as a new breed of single-engine business aircraft. Its most important design feature is the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-64 turboprop engine.
