From The Archives: Pilot Report - Piper Malibu Mirage

Piper Aircraft Corp.'s Malibu Mirage was the only single-engined pressurized, cabin-class airplane currently in production in the U.S., we reported in the Mar. 27, 1989 issue of the magazine.

At the time, it had over 90 orders of the aircraft. The cover image is an early production Mirage which was photographed flying near the Florida coast. It appealed to companies seeking entry-level business aircraft.
