From The Archives: Pilot Report - Pilatus PC-9 Trainer
In our July 22, 1985 issue, we featured a Pilatus PC-9 Trainer pilot report by David M. North, our senior editor for business flying.
Pilatus upgraded its trainer performance systems with a PC-9 turboprop.
Both the No.1 and No. 2 prototype PC-9 trainers were flown by North in Stans, Switzerland, the home of the Pilatus manufacturing facility, to evaluate the PC-9's handling characteristics and assess the differences between the PC-7 and the newer PC-9.
You can read the full report on page 46, including the aircraft specification and an image of the cockpit.
The PC-7 had been evaluated, and the report appeared in our December 19, 1983, issue, on page 65.
