From The Archives: Gulfstream Bids To Retake Industry Lead

As the Gulfstream G700 makes it Singapore Air Show debut at the Changi Exhibition Center this year, we take a look back to 2019 when we reported that the firm planned to "retake the crown for the largest, longest-range business jet with the unveiling of its new flagship, the G700".

See an image of the first G700 which had completed secret taxi tests at Gulfstream's Savannah, Georgia, home.

The first flight was, at the time of reporting, "imminent", and customer deliveries were scheduled for 2022. 

Guy Norris wrote: "Aimed at toppling the 7,700-nm-range Bombardier Global 7500 as the reigning large-cabin jet, the $75 million G700 is the heaviest, roomiest and likely longest-range business aircraft built by Gulfstream to date."
