From The Archives: Fairchild 300 In Flight Test

Fairchild Aircraft's newest version of its Merlin line of corporate turboprops, the Fairchild 300, received its Federal Aviation Administration type certificate in late January. The standard 8-10 passenger aircraft is powered by two Garrett TPE331-10 turboprop engines rated at 900 shp. at takeoff. The 300's winglets and its lateral control system and ailerons are new.

David M. North wrote a pilot report on the Fairchild 300 in the Feb. 13, 1984 issue and found on page 49.

Also on the cover we highlighted the pilot report of the Skyfox Trainer. Read it on page 39.
