From The Archives: Dassault/Pan Am Fan Jet Falcon
The first production Fan Jet Falcon Dassault Mystere 20 executive jet, being marketed by Pan American World Airways, is shown on a demonstration flight for Pan Am officials.
The aircraft, which can carry up to ten passengers plus two crewmen, is powered by General Electric CF700-2B engines nominally rated at 4,200 lb. thrust each.
Federal Aviation Agency certification of the aircraft is expected by early June, and deliveries to U.S. customers are scheduled to begin that month.
Pan Am reports that firm deposits have been received for 54 aircraft. Three aircraft will be sent to the Paris Air Show next month - two for display at Le Bourget and the third to make ferry flights to Dassault's production facility at Bordeaux.
