DUBAI—Iraq Gate private jet company is making its debut at the Dubai Airshow this year. The only private jet charter company based in Iraq, operating under a local AOC, the company owns and operates three Bombardier CRJs 200s, one CRJ 900 and one Hawker 800XP out of Baghdad International Airport.

“The charter market is mostly served by companies working from Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. We are the first company based in Iraq to serve this area. We have been in business since 2013 and have seen the sector's growth,” Iraq Gate General Manager Ihsan Jasim says.

"As Iraq has now become very stable, the aviation business is developing and growing and we are seeing great demand for the 50-seater CRJ 200 particularly,” Jasim says. “We have extensive work with the United Nations and companies in the oil and gas industry.”

In addition to the charter services, Iraq Gate offers ground handling and aircraft management. The company is predominantly working within the country, but is also aiming to expand business in the region.

“We are here hoping to gain a wider market, with companies based in the Middle East who are looking to travel into Iraq,” he adds. “We are the specialists in the country. We have experienced staff in Iraq and offer very safe journeys to the Middle East.”
